So, tonight was the second to last night for my Special Ed Law class...Yeah! Due to the lack of participation in the class, I tend to get sleepy and find my mind wandering.. So, tonight during one of the many power point presentations, I found myself creating an acrostic poem... kinda.
Here it is:
Goals ... must be measurable, annually

Accommodations & modifications
Discussions, discussions, discussions
Under pressure
Assessments
Time?.... time to do what?

On the mind ....
Out the mouth - - > ADHD students
Least restrictive environment
Skimming...it's the new way to read in graduate school
Progress monitoring
Education, Free & Appropriate Public (FAPE)
Charting, charting, & some more charting
Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA 2004)
Alphabet soup ... ED, EBD, MR, DCD, HI, VI, OHI, ODD, OCD, ADHD, etc.
Laws ... regulations ... how do we remember them all?!
Eligibility

Characteristics of services

Technology, assistive
Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
