Goodmorning everyone! Happy Saturday!
So today I was up at the crack of dawn to do a run outdoors before work! Wahoo! I had a positive mind set when I left my apartment at 7am. My first 2 miles were fine. Then there were a couple little inclines. Yuck. All in all, I completed 4.92 miles. Outdoors. I haven't done much running outside, and have done quite a bit on the "thrillmill". What would you all prefer? Why is it harder for me to run outdoors than on the treadmill? Huh? I don't get it. From now on, I am running outdoors as much as possible, or I will NEVER be ready for my race. Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated! Off to work I go!

I am the exact opposite, I hate running on a treadmill. When I started running, it was indoors and I was lucky if I could run 1 mile because I couldn't stand it inside. Running outdoors is the part about running that excites me. It is hilly around here, but I can handle the hills if the scenery is beautiful. The only bad part is when the winter comes, I will have to go back indoors, I don't mind running in the cold, but it gets dark before I am done with work and the roads here are too dangerous and curvy to run on in the dark. You will get used to running outside and try to run in the most beautiful part of GFK, it helps. Good luck!
That's funny because I think it is easier to run on the treadmill too. But I have to push myself to get outside to run. I think mine is just this inane fear of other runners passing me. On the treadmill that can't happen. But with my handy dandy Garmin, I am thinking I am going to LOVE being outdoors, that and the fact that it's summer...and prime tanning hours!
I prefer to run in the outdoors for sure, but the "dreadmill" has it's place and time, it was especially helpful when i first picked up running in the fall and it kept me going through the winter when the weather turned foul. I love the trails and I can't think of a more beautiful place than a trail cushioned with duff and the scent of pine. give it a try and your sure to find your outdoor runner chick mojo.
I feel like a rat on a wheel when I am on the treadmill (mostly). good job getting it done and especially getting it done before work. On a Saturday at that!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog.
I think once you start running outside more that you will grow to love it. Look for good routes that are scenic and tolerable terrain wise as well. I also enjoy running different routes as much as possible so I do not get too bored. Good luck.
I've actually only done the treadmill thing a couple of times. I do love being outside and I think it helps me stay motivated.
To each his own, ya know?
I HATE the treadmill. I run outside as much as I can and when forced inside I run on the indoor track.
