Big Weekend

The past week or so has been quite busy, but oh so much fun! Here's a recap and explanation as to why I haven't been around in blogger land for almost a week!
Friday Night:

My parents and sister came into town and we enjoyed a nice dinner at my aunt's house. Later on, a bunch of us met up with my sister's fiance and his parents for some drinks. I chose to be some sort of a designated driver as I knew I was going to be having fun the next night... after graduation.
Last year at this time, my sister and I, as well as a couple of our cousins, introduced my father and a few uncles to the wonderful world of jag bombs. This year, we introduced my mom and her sister to a Chuck Norris drink. I think she enjoyed it... as she was the first one to slam her glass down! Too cute!

Graduation:

Saturday started with an early morning, running some errands, and rushing off to graduation. My sister's Fiance B and I took off before others, as we had to be there quite early. Early enough to just stand around in a line for over a half hour.

The ceremony lasted for a good few hours. I couldn't sit still at all. All I had in my system was a little breakfast and coffee. Not a good mix. Afterwards, we met up with our families outdoors. The weather was gorgeous with the sun shining from the baby blue sky! I was so ready to get out of my cap, gown, and hood.. geez, all the stuff they require you to wear when you get your masters. I will definitely not be working towards my doctorate.

Saturday Night:

After a wonderful dinner at a local country club, it was MY turn to have some fun. We had a late start as the dinner went late, but it was still a lot of fun. We went to a local bar as a co-worker's husband's band was playing. Too much fun!

Chuck Norris...anyone?!?!

Group shot... again! I don't think I was having much fun...

Me and my sista! Some say we look like sisters... Nah!!

All and all, the weekend was supurb! And to be able to see my Mom on mother's day was another treat. For her and me, I would think! Now, I just need to land me a job!

Yesterday I had my doctor appointment and it went well. I forgot to ask when I can run, so I will be calling today. Although, my ankle has been bothering me. I am starting to really question why I run. Anytime I can get back into the swing of things, something happens. I have the dull achy pain that wraps around my right ankle when I push off of my foot. Frustrating. Very very frustrating. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! {EDIT: I talked to the Nurse. No running for 5 days. Minimum. I guess it is good...for my ankle if anything.}

Gosh, no pointers about your injury, but a huge hug on the graduation. It does sound like you had a great time. Wearing all that garb is never fun I think. But you've done it...you are thru..woohoo...way to go...
I do hope you get back into running though...just take it easy getting back in...slow and steady...some in our runner's club have a saying that I think they got from Galloway..."Speed kills"...
Keep us posted on your recoup.

Congratulations! You gradiated!! Woo hoo! Drinks are on you :-) Good luck with your decisions for the future! I know you have a very bright future ahead of you.

Yes, why do you run? You should know this already :-) Don't let the injury cloud those reasons.

Awesome! You made it!! Not that there was ever any question, but way to go!!

As far as running - only you can answer the why. If running no longer does it for you, look for something else hmmmm maybe triathlon! Swim Bike Run! Cross train! ahem. just a thought.

Congratulation! You made it!!! Lay off the ankle and allow time to heal. After that, continue to build rest into your base training. That helps me keep from having too many injury issues... But overall, enjoy the moment! You deserve the time for a break... take it and love it.

Congratulations! Looks like you could have had more fun...lol. Way to go!

I haven't been running as long as you but it didn't take me long to figure out I can't run everyday. I was having ITB problems early on but once I limited my running to 3 days a week I've been injury free. Maybe run fewer days but build up to longer runs those days. Just a thought from a newbie.

Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Your family is gorgeous!!!

I just asked my self all of those questions about running! Especially now that I love biking! But I just don't think I could live without being able to hit the road for a nice run. Think of the good runs and if you don't miss them then take a break. Either way, I hope your ankle is better super fast!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! What a fantastic time it looks like you had - and your fam is adorable, and they're having just as much fun!!!! I bet it was wonderful to have all your family together.

Hope your ankle gets better, and you can hit the road again (slowly - too). Don't want you to get hurt...

The world is yours now - be picky on your job choice as you've earned it! Good luck!

BTW, you look so pretty!! Like the curls a lot, coming from a curly headed gal.

Congratulations on the graduation. I know you have worked very hard... a break is now well deserved. Unfortunately, your body is demanding time off in more ways than you expected. I'm sorry to read of your ankle injury. As one who recently overcame an injury herself... take it easy and don't be too anxious to go again. Swimming & Cycling are both awesome! Take care of yourself.
