I can't get over how nice the weather is here. As I had stated in my previous post, we hit up Buck Burgers last night. For those of you who were questioning what Buck Burgers were, here is your answer. You see, there is this local bar that serves food. On Monday nights, they serve Burgers with frips (fried chips) for only $1 with the purchas of a drink. We usually purchase a pitcher of beer (or 2). You can substitute the fried chips for fries or onion rings for an additional $1. These burgers are THE Best and we look forward to any monday that we can go. It's been a while since I had class monday nights. But, I think last night was our last. Sniff sniff.
Afterwards, we relaxed a bit to let our food (and beer) settle. Then, shortly after 7pm, Sis and I went out for a run. It was still warm, but very nice out! We did a loop through the neighborhood and only went about 1.92 miles. I am blaming the rough run on the beer and dehydration! Sis had drank too much water prior to the run. I like to follow the "no eating less than 2 hours before running" .... but that didn't happen. Shortly into our run, I nearly "kissed the ground" as my right foot got caught on a raised piece of concrete. Dangit. My face came within six inches of the ground and I was surprised that I was able to catch myself in the nick of time!
Tonight, we hope to do a longer run, then a good pasta/chicken dinner, all before the start of American Idol! Wahoo!

I'm drinking a latte right now! A little caffeine goes a LONG way for me (you know what I mean), so I will be all pumped up and ready to go for our long run this afternoon! Of course we might die of heat, 77 today! See you laters!

It takes a harcore runner to run 2 miles after a pitcher. And it obviously didn't effect you too adversely since you were able to save yourself for total face anhialation!

Neither beer nor food will keep a runner from their run!!! Trust me! Know this. It just takes a while for it settle comfortably in your system. And beer makes you sweat like crazy :-) So glad you saved your face! John is funny today!

I can't eat much before a run either - I'm not a beer drinker, though, so I haven't had that experience. Mojitos are yummy - but I certainly wouldn't want to run after too many of them. :)

If you could see my knee you would see how easy it is to "kiss" the ground with other parts of the body too and it happened over a month ago...
